The short answer
Yes. Activepieces' Google My Business piece (checked 24 October 2026) has a New Review trigger and actions to create, list, get, update and delete posts and to "reply to a review, or replace the reply already posted". The page says "every piece you connect can be exposed over one Activepieces MCP server", that Activepieces "is open source and free to start", and that it is "fully self-hostable".
How it works in practice
You add the Google My Business piece to Activepieces, sign in to Google there, and expose the piece over Activepieces' MCP server; your assistant then sees each action as a tool. On the cloud service that is a few clicks; self-hosted, you run Activepieces yourself and need your own Google Cloud project with Business Profile API access, which Google approves case by case.
Where Activepieces is stronger
- Open source: run it on your own server and keep the data there.
- Full post management for Google (create, update, delete) next to hundreds of other pieces.
- Automations that run on their own when a review arrives.
Where Social for Shops differs
- Nothing to host or configure: add one address to Claude or ChatGPT and sign in.
- Reviews across every location in one question, drafts in each business's voice, publishing after one approval of a preview.
- Posting to Google Business Profile, Facebook Pages, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Telegram, Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord and Slack from the same connector, free.
Self-hosting a Google connector also means your own Google Business Profile API approval; Social for Shops has its own. Details: Google Business Profile MCP.
Trying both side by side
You do not have to choose blind. Add Social for Shops next to your current connector: in Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://api.socialforshops.com/mcp, sign in and choose read-only to start. Then ask both the same question — for example "which of my locations have unanswered reviews?" — and compare the answers. Nothing is published while you test, and you can remove either connector at any time. The full steps are on the connect page.
Which one should I pick?
- A technical team that wants open source, self-hosting and automations: Activepieces.
- Owners and agencies who want reviews and posts handled from their assistant without running anything: Social for Shops.
