Where Birdeye is strong
Birdeye is a broad customer-experience platform. According to its own pages (checked 24 October 2026), its review product includes a Review Response Agent that reads each review and replies in your brand voice, either posting on its own or holding replies for approval. It also covers messaging, surveys and listings, coordinates several AI agents, and has launched an MCP server that lets AI assistants read data such as reviews and ratings. Pricing is by quote: the pricing page asks for your number of locations and does not publish prices.
If you want one vendor for messaging, surveys, listings and reviews, and you have the budget for an enterprise contract, Birdeye is built for that.
Where Social for Shops is different
- Free review replies. Your own Claude or ChatGPT writes the replies, so there is no per-location or per-reply fee from Social for Shops.
- Inside the assistant you already use. Ask "which of my locations have unanswered reviews?" and get a row per location in one call; draft replies; publish after you approve, all from the chat.
- Agency-ready. Accounts are grouped into client businesses, each with its own tone, sign-off and words to avoid, and every result names the location by city.
- Posts too. The same connector posts to Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram and more.
What Social for Shops does not do
Social for Shops is not a messaging inbox, a survey tool or a listings manager, and it does not reply to reviews on its own without your approval. If you need those, a suite is the better fit.
Running both
You do not have to choose. Some teams keep their suite for messaging and surveys and use Social for Shops from Claude for the review backlog, because the summary across locations takes one question.
